I’m running for a seat in Israel’s parliament, the Knesset, and any Jewish person in the world can vote for me, Israeli citizen or not. Seriously. Before I explain exactly how, here’s why I’m running.

Gambling as the canary, Why I’m running for Israel’s parliamentArguably the most famous Holocaust poem ever written was penned by a Lutheran Pastor. His name was Martin Niemöller. You’ve probably heard his poem before. It starts like this:

“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out, because I was not a socialist.”

It continues with trade unionists, then Jews, “Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me.” It’s one of those things they make you memorize as a kid, especially a Jewish kid in Jewish day school.

I’m not a gambler, at least not the casino or games of chance or poker type. But I know the poem, and I’m aware enough to know that they come for the gamblers first. They – the ruling class who make their living taxing our work, telling us how to live our lives, how much we have to pay them, who we have to bomb and who we have to hate, who can work in what industry for how much, printing money and devaluing our paychecks when they run out of cash.

They clothe their rationalizations in moralizing terms to make you think they care about you. Gambling is dangerous, they say. It has to be regulated and taxed, they say. So that it is not abused. And by the way, the regulatory fees and taxes all go to them and their budgets, which are never balanced anyway. The ones who get the exclusive licenses to do business without being arrested always have a man on the inside, donating to campaigns, lobbying, buying influence.

First they come for the gamblers, because they’re the easiest to rob, without much backlash. People like Chris Christie, who last year strong-armed Atlantic City casinos by threatening to close them down, taxed them an extra $120 million in order to bail out his bankrupt city government buddies. They spent too much again. Oops. Let’s take more money from the casinos first then. And now, the moralizer is caught sun bathing with his family at a government-owned beach he closed to the public because his buddies in Trenton spent too much again. Oops.

“Did you get any sun today?” he was asked.

“I didn’t. I didn’t get any sun today,” he said.

And then the photos. Oops. And then we’re told he wasn’t lying because, “He had a baseball hat on.” Then he went back to his taxpayer funded beach house to take a shower. His water bill is paid by taxpayers, too. But trust him. Gambling is immoral.

Calling Upon All Jews: Vote for Rafi Farber for the Knesset

In 2012 I published this book:

It was, in effect my love letter to Ron Paul, who, of course, I revere. As is usual in publications of this sort, I searched around for people to write a forward to the book. As is typical on occasions of this sort, my first thought was to ask a famous person to make this contribution. I wanted to maximize the publicity for this book. I was thinking of the usual suspects: Ron Paul himself, Lew Rockwell, Andrew Napolitano, Hans Hoppe, Tom Woods, Tom DiLorenzo, and other such leaders of our movement. I rejected them all. Instead, I chose an essay on Ron Paul written by this then 20 something year old kid, Rafi Farber.  In my view, this is the single best essay ever written about Ron Paul, by anyone. Anyone. No exceptions. It is brilliant. It is magnificent. You can read it right here; you need not purchase this book.  I don’t say it does full justice to Ron Paul; no human being can do so. But, Rafi’s effort comes closer than any other essay I have ever read about Dr. Paul. Read it now. It will bring tears to your eyes, as it does to me every time I read it, and I have read it on dozens of occasions.

Rafi then and now, is an Israeli citizen. He is now in his early 30s, and is running as an open and avowed libertarian for the Israeli parliament, the Knesset. A staunch Rothbardian, he favors full free enterprise for that country, an end to all U.S. foreign “aid” to Israel, and a host of other libertarian planks.  Due to arcane voting laws, all Jews, citizens of any country, are eligible to vote for him (don’t ask, but read below).

So, I humbly ask all Jewish libertarians to vote for him. I would greatly appreciate your support on this. I will be in your debt if you help elect him. In my considered opinion, the entire libertarian movement will benefit from having a young, articulate, passionate Rothbardian in the Knesset. Please help my friend and already several times co-author Rafi Farber attain this goal.

Please vote a Libertarian into Israel’s Parliament.

There is a new libertarian minarchist political party in Israel called Zehut (Identity), polling at 12-15 seats out of a total 120 seats in Israel’s parliament, the Knesset. Rafi Farber, anarcho-libertarian and author of an LRC article Vote Ron Paul and Let My People Go, is running for slot #10 on Zehut’s list.

Here’s where it gets interesting though. Any Jewish person in the world is eligible to vote for Farber in the Zehut party primaries on September 12.

How, you ask? Zehut is reserving slot #10 for voting by international members only, and any Jewish person in the world can become an international member of the party. To do so, go to Farber’s campaign page and pledge your support. Voting membership is limited to Jewish people, loosely defined, so please only pledge support if you are Jewish. (Honors system!) You will not be charged a dime until and unless he reaches 250 voting supporters, which will ensure his victory in the primaries.

His platform includes

1) Ending all foreign government aid to Israel,

2) Ending all Israeli military occupation,

3) Legalizing gold silver and bitcoin as legal tender

4) In general, he will vote against any law that expands the size of the Israeli state, and vote for any law that shrinks it.

As a bonus, he will not take any state salary if he wins, but instead will donate half of it to the Mises Institute, and half to libertarian causes in Israel, every month.

A Modest Proposal, by Rafi Farber

Kim Jong Un for President

Donald Trump or Kim Jong Un, they are both whackjobs with nuclear arsenals. Here’s a novel idea for peace. Trump should fly to North Korea, prostrate himself to Kim Jong Un, and offer him the Presidency. Sure, that’s not constitutional, but neither is anything else Trump has done as Overlord.

Kim Jong Un would be appeased, become president, and nobody in the US would listen to a word he said.

It’s similar to taking the fears of the lefties and righties in Israel to the ultimate extreme. Annex everything and watch the Arabs outvote the Jews and 61 out of 120 MK’s are Arabs and vote to “drive the Jews into the sea”.

So what? Will the Jews say “Well, they have 61 votes, and according to our constitution which doesn’t exist, that means we have to follow everything they say because the State is Holy and We Are All Religious Zionists Now.”

No. Because as much as people believe that nonsense, when it comes to their actual lives, they will throw it out because it is, all, nonsense in the end.

What would really end up happening is that nobody would listen to the Knesset, finally, that would be that.

So Kim Jong Un for president. It would solve all the war tensions and solve a lot of problems with all the Trumpheads following his every command. Nobody would listen to him. He’d be a figurehead and we’d all ignore him.
