The British Monarchy Steals the Glory of King David!

Birkos Haftarah:

Marc Davis wrote back in 2013:

Looks like little Prince George Alexander Louis—you know, Will and Kate’s kid—may have a date with the knife. Or not. It’s hard to say just yet, though that hasn’t kept Brits from speculating. Seems that royal history points both ways.

For instance, Will’s dad, Prince Charles, was circumcised at Buckingham Palace in 1948 by Rabbi Jacob Snowman, the official mohel of London’s Jewish community. But Snowman wasn’t the first royal mohel. The tradition goes as far back as King George I, who reigned from 1714 to 1727. Years later, believing they descended directly from King David, Queen Victoria had all her sons circumcised, too. And Queen Elizabeth II continued the tradition.

[Here’s Wikipedia on Rabbi Snowman.]

So they claim a false “Divine Right” from the House of David. (They “anoint” their kings, too.)

UPDATE: The coronation ceremony imitates the anointing of King Solomon as described in Sefer Melachim and includes a song about Zadok the priest.

This adds another reason to see the royals before their stolen glory goes back to the owners, Berachos 9b:

The Recent Israeli ‘Central Bureau of Statistics’ Survey: A Personal Account

Based on a recent conversation with a friend:

Instead of trying to reach everyone, and getting little participation, this time they decided to ask only the 700,000 people who came up in a lottery.

As for halacha, their questions don’t seem to violate the transgression of counting the Jewish people (“Errors and Omissions Excepted”). One “Negef” may have been enough. And anyone who answers enough questions gets a coupon for 75 Shekels (but more on that later).

First, they start by calling your number. Unlike past surveys, this one is not optional. You may decline to assist central planning schemes for the great privilege of paying them a 500 Shekel fine (in addition to all the Corona fines…). The good news is you can say what you like; no law against lying (we can rest assured they will zealously guard our private info as well as always).

If you give them the runaround, they actually knock on your door in person. (Knowledge is power so the State here graciously exempts itself from its own self-imposed privacy restrictions in all its other interactions with citizens.)

They will tell you it takes 20 minutes by phone; it’s more like an hour. As an independent worker, my friend says he makes more than that amount in an hour of honest labor.

Since the lottery includes minors, the parents must answer in their stead. Who has more young children on average? Observant Jews. And you only get the coupon if you insist on answering online. So, you must have internet access plus a phone with SMS messaging for verification (no alternatives enabled). Who has less internet and\or smartphones? Observant Jews. And then you need to visit the subsidized stores in holy shopping malls and the like to redeem your consolation prize for forfeited labor. Who does this handicap? Again, observant Jews.

So, while being singled out for forced labor helping the enemy’s intelligence gathering, the “compensation” is not distributed equally. So, less welfare, right?

 when they change the argument.

All last year and as late as May of this year:

  • “coronavirus came from a lab” is a debunked conspiracy theory
Now:
  • what difference does it make where it came from, what matters is what we do to stop the next one.
The only response to the latter is to ask them why it mattered so much during the course of the previous year?  So much so, in fact, that you would be removed from Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube for talking about the lab leak theory.

The Media: Sins of Omission

To Tell The Truth: Major News Outlets Refuse to Cover “Inconvenient Truths” Relating to COVID-19

To Tell the Truth is a Human Events News’ press analysis series. These stories will focus on “news” being reported by either The New York Times, The Washington Post, ABC News, NBC News, or CBS News. Despite 24-hour cable broadcasts, and an untold number of internet sources, these established, mainstream platforms continue to influence the majority of American citizens and their political opinions.

The “news” generated by these press is better regarded as “opinion” crafted in a way designed to discourage skepticism and critical thought on the part of the audience. To Tell the Truth will be Human Events News’ periodic effort to help address this bias, and restore the skepticism necessary on the part of all Americans to maintain a free society.

On Jan. 15, Newsweek reported on a groundbreaking study published ten days prior in the European Journal of Clinical InvestigationThe study, conducted by Stanford researchers, found that mandatory lockdowns in response to COVID-19 “did not provide significantly more benefits to slowing the spread of the disease than other voluntary measures.”

Five days after Newsweek’s report, news of the study remains absent from the websites of major American news outlets, including the New York TimesThe Washington Post, NBC, ABC, and CBS.

“The study compared cases in England, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and the U.S. – all countries that implemented mandatory lockdown orders and business closures – to South Korea and Sweden, which instituted less severe, voluntary responses. It aimed to analyze the effect that less restrictive or more restrictive measures had on changing individual behavior and curbing the transmission of the virus,” Newsweek reports.

“We do not question the role of all public health interventions, or of coordinated communications about the epidemic, but we fail to find an additional benefit of stay-at-home orders and business closures,” wrote the researchers.

The named outlets have continued to cover coronavirus-related news and even research studies, especially those having to do with the severity of the virus and the importance of a vaccine. The New York Times has covered several studies in the days since the Stanford research was released, including the following:
