Anyway, on the last page, (engaged in the useful conflation of Jewish autonomy and statehood,) the Satmar screed paraphrases the following homily from the Chasam Sofer.
Here is the original:
והנה אחד מזמני הגאולה היותר בטוחים הוא בהיות ישראל בתכלית השפלות שאין למטה ממנו אזי על כרחך יביט פני משיחו למשחו שמן משחת קודש, ובמה יודע איפה שפלת בני ישראל הוא בראות אלקים את מגינם אשר יבטחו בו אזי יראה ה’ כמה מהשיעור שפלות הגיעו שאין למטה ממנו. וזה שאמר קרא מגיננו ראה אלקים אותו המגין שאנו חסים בצילו וע”י זה והבט פני משיחך הבטה לטובה ולשנת גאולה.

It’s Satmar. You expect some form of “נורא” to show up in every third sentence! I’m sure that reading this stuff ruins my Hebrew, not to mention my neshama.
