A contributor related a personal story from 3 years ago, in America.
A colleague recruited him for the company she worked for. He negotiated a very high salary, double what she made, based on his superior skills and the dearth of men willing to do that type of job. (They required observant Jews.)
Then another woman was hired in HR, and she decided to help The Sisterhood by giving the female coworker a large raise, too, for parity.
Six months later, the company fired his veteran coworker since they could no longer afford to pay her what they paid him, and they didn’t want to get into trouble for “deteriorating work conditions”, etc.
She blames him, of course.
