Shallow and short, but considering the situation:
…
Someone said […] “no Gedolim support” ascending Har Habayis.
I cannot resist writing at least something basic in response (פן יהיה חכם בעיניו).
The Radbaz zal doesn’t count?
Closer to our time, Rabbi Moshe Feinstein’s own family testifies he supported ascending Har Habayis.
Rabbi Malinowitz zatzal doesn’t count (if for good reason)?
Rabbi Seraya Deblitzky zatzal (and others) encouraged knowledgeable individuals who asked.
Rabbi Yitzchak Brand shlita doesn’t count?
Rabbi Meir Mazuz shlita doesn’t count (I’m not sure if for the public at large)?
Rabbi Herschel Schachter shlita said ascending Har Habayis would be permitted had the “Chief Rabbinate” permitted it. (Can you read between the lines?)
Rabbi Dov Lior shlita (supposedly “Charedi Leumi”, known as a major posek) doesn’t count (he supports a more roundabout route)?
Now, you may say anyone who disagrees with you is by definition no (longer) one of the “Gedolim”.
On the contrary, we only listen to “greats” actually sitting on Har Habayis!
ועשית על פי הדבר אשר יגידו לך מן המקום ההוא אשר יבחר השם ושמרת לעשות ככל אשר יורוך.
