Suspect and Respect

I, an anonymous writer on the internet, wish to give any Jew who reads this some unsolicited advice.

When an elderly rabbi/rebbe/scholar/etc. moves to your neighborhood, this ought to raise the simple question: Why?

Is your neighborhood where older rabbis often go to retire? What are his plans, and do they seem to match his stature?

If it is you who just moved in, and you find an elderly scholar to whom access is surprisingly open, this too ought to raise the simple question: Why?

Are his entourage all youngsters and/or greenhorns? Why? Where are the followers and friends he ought to have accumulated over the years?

Are good answers possible? Sure. But ask! Ask yourself, ask others, and don’t fall for poor justifications.

Stay safe.

Placing the Blame Where It Belongs

Cofix, the Israeli coffee franchise, will now raise their prices.

See what I wrote about this kind of event way back here.

It’s important to talk about how this happens. One reason is the higher coerced hourly wage. Those beards who pretend to be loyal to Judaism supported the minimum wage increase – when it should be canceled entirely. (In fact, not one clown in the ugly square building was opposed on principle. The “law” worsening Jewish unemployment passed virtually unanimously.)

Tell me this: Where do we find this Marxist law anywhere in Shas (the book, not the party)?

And, as always, we are not blaming the puppets but the puppet-masters!

The Jew and the Giant Cabbage Stalk

When Jews truly obey Hashem, their agricultural output is super-abundant. One illustrative anecdote – among many, sounds familiar:

אמר רבי שמעון בן חלפתא, מעשה בקלח של כרוב שהיה בתוך שדנו והייתי עולה ויורד בו כעולה ויורד בסולם.

Translation:

Said Rabbi Shimon ben Chalafta, there was a cabbage stalk in our field which I would ascend and descend as one goes up and down a ladder.

There’s more where that came from: Yalkut Shimoni Devarim 32:944
